Sprachtreff Frankfurt presents new website and highlights its unique diversity and authenticity in language teaching and study abroad programmes
Frankfurt am Main, March 2026 – The renowned language school Sprachtreff Frankfurt is launching its new website, creating a fresh hub for everyone who wants to combine language, culture and personal development. Guided by the motto “Languages open worlds”, the new online presence showcases the exceptionally wide range of course formats, languages and learning paths that have defined Sprachtreff Frankfurt for over 30 years.
The language school offers more than 45 foreign languages – from English, French and Spanish to Arabic, Turkish or Chinese – as well as German courses for beginners and advanced learners, tailored intensive and evening courses, online lessons, and special programmes for companies or school students. The courses follow the Common European Framework of Reference A1–C2 and are taught by qualified native speakers in a personal, motivating learning atmosphere.
A special highlight of the new website is the revised study abroad programme “DESR” (Service for European Languages and Travel), which combines language learning with authentic cultural experiences. Whether language trips to Europe’s classic metropolises or remote destinations worldwide, participants can use the language in everyday life and immerse themselves in the culture of the country. The programmes are suitable for all age groups and combine language lessons with unforgettable experiences, interactive activities and genuine cultural exchange – very much in the spirit of holistic learning.
“With our new website, we don’t just want to inform people about what we offer, but above all show how closely language, meeting people and cultural understanding are connected. Learning should inspire, connect and open horizons,” says the Sprachtreff Frankfurt team.
The new website is now live and offers comprehensive information on courses, language trips, registration options and many other services.

The "language school with flair" in the heart of Frankfurt celebrates its anniversary with a €30 discount on all language courses
(Frankfurt, July 2021): With a €30 discount on all language courses in July, “Sprachtreff Frankfurt”, founded in 1991 and based in Alte Gasse near Konstablerwache since 2005, wants to celebrate its milestone anniversary together with all Frankfurt residents interested in languages.
35 languages and 30 language-travel destinations:
“It all started in 1991 in a small back-office courtyard at Leipziger Straße 39, where at first I only offered language trips that I had taken myself in the 1980s,” says Thomas Gesang, founder and managing director of Sprachtreff, about the early days. Today, the globetrotter in Alte Gasse near Konstablerwache offers 35 languages as one-to-one lessons, evening courses or intensive courses – many of them also as Bildungsurlaub. In addition, there are 30 destinations worldwide for language trips and Bildungsurlaub – organised by a team of ten employees, five of whom are permanent staff.
Recipe for success: A wide range of options and personal contacts worldwide
In Sprachtreff’s broad language course offering – unique in Frankfurt – ranging from Thai and Persian to Eastern European languages and Tagalog, founder Thomas Gesang sees the recipe for his language school’s success: “The diversity of Frankfurt courses is mirrored in our language travel sector. As a rule, I only offer partner schools and accommodation that I’ve tried myself,” Thomas Gesang reveals as his second recipe for success. “That way, I can offer our customers excellent advice based on first-hand experience. For example, for exciting, exotic destinations abroad with original programme formats such as “out and about in Havana with the teacher”, or interesting Bildungsurlaub in Salvador da Bahia (Brazil), Valparaiso (Chile), as well as French or Arabic courses in the historic Kasbah of Fes (Morocco).”
“International flair with a living-room atmosphere”:
Last but not least, managing director Thomas Gesang sees the reason for his success in the international flair with a living-room atmosphere that he offers his customers in his charming period rooms. Since moving in in 2005, he has developed them into a place for “meeting the world of languages”: “Our cosy coffee lounge, 10 country-style classrooms, 15 native-speaking teachers and 10 multilingual staff give visitors the feeling, as soon as they walk in, of being warmly welcomed and at home.”
Chronicle 1991–2021:
1991 – The beginnings: Offering language trips on Leipziger Straße
Renting a small back-office courtyard at Leipziger Straße 39. At first, only language trips were offered there—trips that Thomas Gesang had taken himself in the 1980s. A few months later, the first Frankfurt language courses followed, initially as evening courses in the office after business hours, as there were no dedicated classrooms yet.
1992 – 1998: First Frankfurt language courses on Leipziger Straße
From 1992 onwards, this changed with the gradual rental of small single rooms on the opposite side of the street. Many new small shops and cafés on Leipziger Straße ensured a steady flow of visitors at the time.
1998 – 2005: Office space with the first employees on Schloßstraße
After seven years, in 1998, the school moved to larger but significantly more expensive and less centrally located premises on Schloßstraße, in a less attractive area near Westbahnhof, but with its own parking spaces. This period also saw the team expand with permanent employees.
2005 to today: Move to Alte Gasse – to the heart of Frankfurt, at Konstablerwache
After another eight years, in 2005/06, a stroke of luck at just the right time played its part. In the city centre, a famous architecture firm gave up its premises, and we were awarded the contract by a friendly property owner from Munich. From then on, Sprachtreff developed from a small neighbourhood school into an increasingly well-known, mid-sized institution in the heart of Frankfurt.
2013: Sprachtreff joins the network of education providers for integration courses on behalf of BAMF.
Recognition as a continuing education institution in Hesse made it possible to join the network of education providers for integration courses on behalf of BAMF. This led to further growth and increased the range of what we offer. Sprachtreff is now a place where, alongside German as a foreign language, 35 other languages are offered in various course formats—from one-to-one training and evening courses to popular Bildungsurlaub/intensive courses. Also: language trips to 30 destinations.
